I was asking the lady making my sandwich why was there only 2 slices of turkey? All she told me was that was the rule, when the customer behind me said yes they usually put 3,4 slices.
She then said no only 2. She then said let me get you the manager. I never ask to speak with her. The lady preparing the sandwich seem to be upset because I had rung the bell before she came over to help me the first time because there was a group of people talking and laughing before she came over to help me.
The other customer also told her yes they put more cold meat in the sandwich. She then ripe the ingredients of the wall and said her , the customer behind me and I said no we do not want to see the list. She then said if I get fired well then I do or care.
I went to explain to the manager from the deli what had happened and she got upset at me. I told her look at the sandwich she did not even wrap it dog it was not closing.
The manager rewrap it and I said thank you and walk away. A guy was coming from the back and told her doesnt she speak spanish? Not nowing that I was still around the deli the they guy coming from the back and the manager started to talk about me. Saying she has a cross on her forehead and she is a like that and not speaking spanish, the deli manager said this is why I do not go to church and be a witch.

I told him this is the customer service you guys offer? We then walk away and he insulted me with trying to give me a 5.00 gift card to Safeway! I told him no no Im not complaining to get money . It is the way the workers treated me.
I told him I will never shop at a Safeway again. The items I was buying I can buy somewhere else. He just walk away and not once did he say sorry. It is sad to see that just because Im latina I have to be treated with disrespect from the workers and managers.
There was a customer that waited till I exited the store and she said you should complain because she has seen it done to other customer also from other races and that the manager at the store does nothing about it.
Please do not send me an apology letter. Say that you guys will look into it. Please do something about it. If not I will take it to legal action.

Tried meeting a friend for coffee he was having medical problem and Assistant Catherine at Safeway on Sprauge and Evergreen 14020 E Sprauge Ave.
Spokane WA 99216 would not acknowledge me Daniel Until I stepped away then this Pretend Assistant Manger Catherine, as I have spoke with store director Dave on the phone he stated she is not an Assistant manger
I don't care if you hate me Catherine, but when u work in public you need to treat everyone the same, I tried to get help for Daniel, but you wouldn't even acknowledged me when I said Daniel needs help because of his poor blood circulation causing him to shack out of control, you looked at me like a 5 year old child rolled your eyes and made a face, as soon as I walked away then you were concerned. Daniel is awaiting AMR at his Group Home for transport to ER...
Least I tried to get help. I guess if anyone at Safeway on sprauge and evergreen and if need any medical help please step away from me because if that Safeway employee Catherine sees me she will not help you out...!

I have never written a more personal review or message in my life. I've actually only written a handful of reviews and most of those were to tell someone how much I appreciate them.
I have no problem being tied to this message personally because I have as close to a perfect record as can be for a woman of almost 38 years old. I've never had a speeding ticket or even a parking ticket in my name. I have never, ever committed a crime and try really hard to always treat everyone I meet with respect and kindness. I'm the executive director of a nonprofit animal rescue.
I bought a house with my husband here in NE Salem a few years ago. I'm also however an over tired mom of 5 young daughters with stage 3 cervical cancer and very disappointed with life right now. I stopped by a Safeway/Albertsons company for the last time today. At the Safeway location on the corner of Lancaster and Silverton Dr in Salem, OR, I have been a loyal customer at this particular location for over 4 years since buying our house here and before that it was the location in West Linn, OR.
After adding up my family's spending for just the beginning of this year, I've spent over 20 thousand dollars there and that's not including prescriptions or anything I forgot to put on my "Safeway club card". According to your app, I have visit this location 306 times. I have never, ever been a problem for an employee, only had kind words and a smile for them and have never talked to security for any reason. Even though I live less than a mile away from this store, I always shopped there instead of the many other grocery stores available because I was looking for better customer service than what I thought I would get elsewhere even with a little bigger price tag at times.
I made a huge mistake today by going through a self checkout line instead of the overly full regular lines. I wasn't feeling well and was in a meaningless hurry. I didn't scan items correctly and made a complete fool out of myself. That's on me and no one else.
I had apparently scanned the wrong barcode on something as stupid as toilet paper that my kids use too much of and made a mess of what I was doing. I was too worried about making sure I got all of the coupons on the never ending grocery store app and all the "rewards". To my huge embarrassment I didn't scan three items out of the 14. I had two people I recognized as working for Safeway looking at me even though they wore plain clothes.
I knew I'd seen them there many times before. I didn't think anything of it and smiled at them. I had the self checkout Safeway worker come up to my check out stand to look at something for me and to put in my age so I could buy a bottle of wine. No one said anything to me.
I paid and went to leave. As I reached the door to the outside, that's when the plain clothed employee, Israel grabbed me by the shoulder to the point where I thought I ran into him and I apologized. He told me he was "loss prevention" and that's when I started shaking. I handed my receipt but I made a public fool out of myself by being told I was lucky the police wouldn't be involved, having my picture taken, told not to come back and to top it off I came home without the much needed toilet paper because I wasn't allowed to buy anything else there ever again.
I know I made myself the village idiot. I'm not looking for anyone to tell me I didn't do anything wrong because I did. I should have slowed down and not put myself in that position. I know everyone always has the same story of it being a mistake when theft is a real problem right now.
What I don't understand is why three employees stared at me and didn't try to help. Why has it gotten so bad that all your company care about is getting a $250 fine out of me and adding me to a list instead of the literal tens of thousands of dollars I spend there every year. I have seen the extent of people shoplifting at that store. I've been at that store late at night when they chase people through the parking lot over them taking as much meat as they can carry out the door.
When did it come to turning everyone into a suspect instead of a person just trying to get from one day to the next? I know anyone at this company can see through my phone number that I'm a very loyal customer to you. The number to my account is (503)926-****. I also know that you will have lost more money from me or my family never shopping with your company again than you will ever see an improvement on loss prevention because I made a horrible mistake I don't make a habit of.
I also know that if you look at your security cameras that you can see me scanning the wrong tag on things and your employees could have simply told me that I missed something. Which is what I thought your employees were supposed to do and that I know other companies have been willing to do for me in the past.

Bad customer service
We were publicly humiliated, due to a misunderstanding. We were going to buy groceries with my mom's U card.
They claimed that it was expired.
Even though it had funds on it. And would not allow us to buy our groceries!! We were out of food. They didn't care took the cart.
Abruptly and started putting them away!! All we were able to buy barely was two sandwiches from the deli.
They were very unprofessional in handling the situation.
All we wanted was was groceries to tie us over till the end of the month instead we ended up with empty totes!! And attitude!!

Hello,
I have been a customer of Safeway for many many years. I had my mother in law visit this weekend from southern California and she was just amazed at how beautiful the store was.
This quickly went away once we got the cashier. We were getting a couple groceries as well as alcoholic beverages as we were hosting a dinner that night. I had forgotten my purse so my husband was going to do the purchase. Store was pretty busy so while my husband was getting his wallet, my mother in law and myself were putting the items on the belt.
We then proceeded to move up as my husband made the purchase. She asked for the ID and then turned around and looked at my mother and law and me and demanded IDs as well. I told her we were not making a purchase and she said it didn't matter. That because we are present that this is the law.
She said if you are here and even touch it i need it. Now I get it you know, but the actual problem here was how she spoke to us. She was getting loud and was giving us a disgusting attitude every time we said something. I then told her it was fine and to just take the alcohol back.
I told her I will be making my alcohol purchase elsewhere as it was such an issue here. She then said that none of us were allowed to purchase there anymore. Like what??? The sad thing is that this was a manager that was providing this disgusting service.
We parked right in the front so I was able to see and hear her as we were getting in the car and she continued to mock us and bad mouth about us to customer and another employee.
I love Safeway but customer service here has made me avoid this location minimizing my purchases. I will leave the store and manager information below.

Firstly, they should have a better way of quickly handling the situation! When contacted by the customer, verify the gift card with the vendor, by actually contacting them directly at the 1(800) number on the back of the card, especially when you see the gift cards are NOT opened & the customer has both receipts!
Call, the gift card vendor, to see if the card was deactivated or has already been used.
If either of the above refund the customer a new card or give them the cash back!
This matter should have never escalated to the corporate level, but should have been handled at the local store level!!
A complete waste of my time, and energy at 72 years of age!!!

I tried sooo hard...to find a tender piece of beef. It doesn't exist - except maybe in the "Prime" category.
But who can afford that.
They make it look soooo good! Gorgeous T-bones, delicious looking Ribeyes! . The first 7 times I bought their beef, I thought "I just got a bad batch.
I just was unlucky." And I would pick up one of their magnificent slightly marbled chunks of cow. Uh-oh. Fooled again! But it looked soooo tender!
Safeway is the only choice in this burg - Junction City.
I really wanted it to work. But their prices are ridiculous and their meat is tough as leather!
Winco or Walmart are where I buy my groceries.
The 20 minute drive is well worth it. Safeway sucks.
