I have now experienced customer service problems at the Montrose Colorado Safeway Pharmacy on multiple occasions and it will be the last time I ever step foot in a Safeway or Albertsons store ever again.
My problem stems from the *** poor customer service and treatment of customers that this store has exhibited. I have consistently had issues with getting my prescriptions filled at this location. I have ongoing medications that require filling, and I can honestly set my watch by the problems created when getting this location's employees to do their jobs. They have next to zero common-sense problem-solving abilities it appears and the problems continue even when I have gone out of my way to facilitate communication breakdowns between not only my doctor's office, but also my insurance company customer service representatives.
My problem this time, (which is similar to every other time), began with me requiring a refill of 2 of my ongoing medications. These medications are vital to my ability to perform day to day activities and every time there is a delay, I suffer complications. I contacted the Safeway Pharmacy to check on refill availability today 01/11/2024. I contacted my doctor's office and had the medical staff call in for a refill of one of the prescriptions. The second prescription had a refill legally on file with written authorization from my Medical Doctor so getting them filled should not have been a problem. I contacted Safeway Pharmacy and spoke with Arial who was the pharmacy representative. She explained to me that they would be in processing, and it would take till after 3pm Mountain time before they were ready. No other problem or delay was expressed at that time which was approximately 10am that morning. I waited till after 4:30pm before going to pick up my prescriptions just to make sure there was plenty of time for them to do their job. Upon arrival at approximately 4:41pm I was told that due to an Insurance policy change that medical preauthorization was needed and a call from my doctor was required...even though this was an ongoing prescription fill and one that I have had prescribed for years, let alone that my doctor had called in this newest refill earlier in the day! I asked what exactly they needed and then stated I would call my doctor's office to get the prescription taken care of. It was told that both of my prescriptions would need this authorization. After talking with my doctor's office and then contacting my insurance company to solve this authorization problem, I waited another 2 hours to attempt to pick up my prescriptions after ensuring that both the doctor's office and insurance company were made aware of the problem and had contacted the pharmacy to solve this issue. When I returned, Arial stated that the authorization was approved for the one medication, but the other had not been authorized as of yet. I then stated my displeasure at how much of my valuable time was wasted on this problem and that I had contacted everyone involved and was assured that they had communicated with Safeway Pharmacy on this matter. I then decided to at least fill the one prescription since it was approved, and that Arial had verified that. I was then told that prescription was not put back in for processing by Safeway (her) and that I would have to wait longer until they could get it filled. I then asked about the other prescription and why it wasn't authorized yet. I was told that it was due to the insurance company being contacted by my doctor's office. I then explained that I had already talked with my doctor and the insurance company earlier and was assured it was taken care of by both parties! I then stated that I would go ahead and pay out of pocket price for that one prescription so that I could get it filled and just not worry about insurance coverage on that one since that was a problem. I was told by Arial that they could not do that due to Safeway Company Policy. I then explained to her how that made no sense since this was a prescription that was already on file with them, that they had been submitted an electronic filing for that particular prescription from my doctor and that this was not any brand-new prescription...being that I had that one filled for over 2 years now at this location! I was again told it was company policy and I would have to come back. I then asked to speak to the Pharmacist to discuss this problem at a higher level. I was not provided the name of this lady upon her arriving at the counter and she did not offer her name. She only commenced to parrot the same company policy statement that Arial had stated. I tried to explain to her the commonsense issue here and how it should not matter how I pay for my legal prescription as they have it on file, had spoken with my doctor already and had verified it as a legitimate prescription awaiting filling! I was then threatened with them calling the police if I did not leave because she didn't like my level or tone of voice! I told her go ahead and call them as I had not done anything wrong and she didn't have to approve of my voice level or wording, only that she needed to do her job! I also stated how they had wasted a massive amount of my time and fuel with all the traveling back and forth for my prescriptions and countless phone calls to attempt to solve the problem which they had created! After being threatened with calling the police again, I told them *** with them and left! I am now considering legal action due to the mental stress wasted fuel and time, and the medical problems which I am now experiencing due to being without my prescriptions for an extended period of time, and threats of police calling which I was faced with by these employees for Safeway Pharmacy. This is beyond unacceptable, and I will not rest till this matter is dealt with properly and solved to my satisfaction! These employees should be fired!

Tried to have a prescription filled at store located at 1304 N Liberty Lake Rd, 99019. Not the first time there.
Called 24 hrs after doctor sent prescription, told they could partially fill order. David says will be ready in an hour. Stopped by 2 hours later and had not been processed. Asked to step to the side and would let me know when ready.
Lady leaves register and goes to another station. No communication about my order or that I am waiting. Waiting over 30 minutes and John after waiting on 5 other customers asks what I am waiting on. States "I didn't wait on you immediately " then goes to check.
Another tech comes up and says we have other people besides you to wait on. Unsolicited and not true as nobody was in line.
States I will have to just wait over to the side again. Maybe another 30 minutes.
I said forget it. I would appreciate it if I had been told it would be such a long wait.
Never explained reason. My observation was nobody communicated with anybody.
Not a team just a bunch of bodies doing busy work.
Terrible service. I will not be shopping at Safeway in the future.
Nobody cares about customers.

I live across the street from your store #2944. Myself or my son have shopped in that store close to daily for the last 2.5 years. On 02/19/24 my 28 year old Schizophrenic son and I were in the self check out line. I noticed an employee walking really fast approaching my son, almost running. She gets within 3 ft of us and blurts out (with almost all self check out kiosks full): you stole a case of water from here last week! Both my son and I were completely taken aback. He looks at her and at me and says no I didnt, I paid for it. She says no you didnt. ..
Needless to say I need a call arrive at a resolution

Now when I go into the store she gives me attitude. If she gives anything it better be an apology to both my son and me.
That was a load of crap and handled about as unprofessionally as is possible. The event screams of discrimination, profiling, and assumptions. It was hurtful, inappropriate and hugely damaging to a young man who has enough *** going on but to be falsely accused of a crime that he didnt nor has ever committed is ludicrous.
Here is the irony: I actually liked this employee prior to this. I would LOOK for her and check-out with her. Now? I find her to be someone who is discriminatory, uneducated, and in need of training. Training on how to deal with people who suffer handicaps and she can kiss my ***

I hope this letter reaches you under better circumstances. I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding a distressing incident that unfolded during my recent visit to the Safeway store located at 1100 North East Broadway, Portland, Floor 1 Lloyd Center.
On Jan 3 at approximately 3pm, I entered the store and quickly became aware that an individual was following me throughout my shopping experience.
This person, who claimed to be part of the theft prevention team, initially justified the surveillance by stating it was due to my possession of a bag. What struck me as particularly absurd was his assertion that my carrying a grocery bag with Trader Joes insignia made me a subject of suspicion.
I must emphasize that this was not a backpack or any type of unconventional bag; it was a standard grocery bag from Trader Joes. How such a commonplace item could be misconstrued as suspicious is beyond comprehension. This only adds to the distressing nature of the incident, as it highlights the arbitrary and unfounded nature of the individuals actions.
Upon questioning his motives, the situation escalated when he explained that he was observing me because I was on my phone upon entering and looked around the store.
I must emphasize that this explanation is unfounded and, frankly, insulting. Firstly, I was engaged in a phone call, making it impossible for me to be surveying the store attentively. Secondly, the claim that he observed me looking around is questionable at best, as I was not yet in the store at that point.
What unfolded next was both disrespectful and racially motivated. As I questioned the unnecessary surveillance and his abrupt departure from our conversation, I felt a distinct sense of degradation and disrespect.
It became apparent that my race played a role in his discriminatory actions, making me feel unsafe and targeted.
In light of these events, I immediately approached the store manager to report the incident. The manager assured me that they would address the matter with the involved party. However, I feel compelled to escalate this complaint further, as the individuals behavior was not only unjust but also indicative of a larger issue that should be addressed to ensure the safety and dignity of all patrons.
I must emphasize that my fear for my life during this incident stems from the fact that I am not a resident of the area, and as such, no one should have knowledge of me or reason to follow me. I am merely visiting a friend, who is the only person I know in the vicinity, and he was at work during this incident.
The inexplicable surveillance and the discriminatory treatment I faced during this visit are deeply unsettling.
I implore Safeway to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, taking appropriate action to rectify the situation and prevent any recurrence. It is disheartening to experience racial profiling and discrimination in a public space in the year 2024, and I believe it is crucial for Safeway to take a strong stance against such behavior.
I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and trust that Safeway is committed to fostering an inclusive and safe environment for all customers.

I was harassed by a Safeway employee who refuse to tell me his name so I could submit a complaint about him.
By several of the employees at the same store, they laughed at me and they played games by overcharging me, making me wait for the cash register to come to their place, waiting for the guy to unlock the cart. YES, at this location of Safeway you cannot leave the store with the cart.
And you have to wait for the guy who watched you leaving. You have to call them several times so he will star moving...

Safeway parking lot homeless camp
Safeway located at 2255 gellert south san francisco has a homless camp located in its parking lot. Around the camp and near the entrance of the store you will find abandoned vehicles.
bags of drugs. Broken glass. Human *** and bottles of urine plus beds couches exercise equipment plus much more. I sent a complaint but since then the homeless count that lives in the safeway parking lott has gone up.
It's also very dark they probably refuse to turn on any lights at night in that section of the parking lot because it shields the homeless camp from being seen. It's not just a neusiance its not healthy for the neighborhood

Missing items and bad service
I would like to inform you about my experience. I had ordered for rapid pick and paid the extra fee, however it took more than 10 minutes for a staff to bring out my items.
While waiting after 5 minutes I got a text my item have been picked up and thats when I called the store. After some time a lady came rushing out and started to throw things in my truck to a point where she dropped my French bread on the ground and picked it back up and threw it in my trunk! She was extremely disrespectful to my items that I had paid for. Upon my return to home I saw I was missing watermelon and that she placed the bread and bun under a 64oz bottle juice and basically crushed the bakery items.
Im so very unhappy with everything that happened and plus not receiving all my items. Only 3 items were in good condition that I ordered from 18 items!
Sadly Ill never visit this location again and share my experience on Goggle. When I called the store to complain theres never a manager available to talk to.

I went to Safeway Hercules and experienced, not the first time , rude cashier. She was talking to the bagger in the bagging area when I came up just ignored me and continue to talk.
I put the items I had on the counter including 2 8 packs of power-aid and a few others items I looked up and she said I will be with you in a minute They seem to be having a personal conversation. Than she slowly came over to the cashier station and started ringing up my items when she got to the power aid she do you have more in your cart I said no than she peered in my cart. Than in a sarcastic tone she said how are you today. Total attitude the whole time.
Not the first time I have experienced this at Hercules Safeway with the cashiers. I only go to Safeway to get the items that Hercules luckys doesnt carry as the cashiers at luckys are SO much more polite. I am not s big complainer. This is unusual for me.
Thought the store management could use the feedback. Thank you for your time in reading this message.

I am a loyal customer and shop at Safeway weekly.
On 6-08-23 I thought I entered my membership number to get the digital coupons which I clipped at home to redeem. However, after I got home and was checking my receipt I noticed I was charged the regular prices.
After I went back to the store and showed the customer service manager the mistakes he said he could not correct the difference & I would need to return everything for a refund. I had already written the price from the ad next to the 6 digital coupons I should have received and $16.42 was the difference I should have received.
I would like my refund for the difference. Please advice.
