As a former management employee of Von's/Safeway Corporation I was laid off during 1997. I was never informed that I had a pension.

After falling on hard times, I learned that I may have a pension and contacted their pension department to happily find out that I have a small pension. In October of 2014 I began the nightmare process of trying to obtain a lump sum emergency welfare distribution. Shondra, Heather and their supervisor Pauly have done everything possible to help but managed to file me as married when I'm single, send me the wrong firms and supposedly mail my check to wrong address. After a dozen or so contacts my check was supposedly mailed a week ago and it never arrived.

Not sure where the problem lies in their pension department but now have had to hire an attorney to collect. Former Safeway employees should be treated better.

Monetary Loss: $13800.

I liked: That pauly tried to help.

I didn't like: Failure to mail check, Sending me the wrong forms, Sending check yo incorrect address, Promises not kept.
